Overview:
Seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer with strong expertise in Java, Python, or both, combined with hands‑on experience using AI/ML libraries. This role focuses on building scalable backend services and integrating intelligent machine learning capabilities into healthcare platforms that support clinical insights, operational efficiency, and improved member experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java, Python, or a combination of both.
Integrate AI/ML models into production systems, ensuring efficient inference, scalability, and reliability.
Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize ML workflows, including model serving, feature pipelines, and monitoring.
Implement secure, compliant data processing aligned with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, PHI).
Build cloud‑native solutions leveraging AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Troubleshoot production issues and deliver long‑term, stable solutions.
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong backend development experience in Java, Python, or both.
Hands‑on experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn, or NumPy, Pandas.
Proven experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed backend systems.
Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with data pipelines, model deployment, and real‑time inference architectures.
Healthcare domain experience, ideally with payor/provider systems, claims, or clinical data.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and secure data handling practices.
Strong SQL/NoSQL database skills.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI, Databricks).
Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7).
Experience with event‑driven systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
