Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity with the Finance Shared Service (FSS) Accounting team. We are looking for an experienced level Accountant to support Asset Management. This position will play an active role in month-end close and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical accounting skills with a strong desire to learn with the ability to prioritize, efficiently plan work activities, and detail and results-oriented is critical to the position.

To be considered for this position, qualified candidates must currently reside in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN metro area to work a hybrid work structure (3+ days per week) in the corporate office located in Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that financial reports are completed on time, in accordance with GAAP principles, and that they accurately reflect financial position.
  • Reconcile accounts, post journal entries, and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with Accounting principles and reporting schedules to ensure the organization has a full and accurate statement of its financial position.
  • Collect, compile, verify, and analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and Accounting statements to provide senior management with accurate and timely information for making financial decisions.
  • Provide technical Accounting advice within area of expertise to functional or operational areas managers to help them develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of modern accounting and office methods and procedures
  • Must possess a solid foundation in accounting fundamentals
  • CPA certification or CPA exam eligible
  • Experience with Finance ERP system
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others to obtain, share, verify and validate information
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
