Position Overview
Seeking a self-starter Project Manager who can take ownership and independently drive initiatives. This role operates in a service provider capacity within a shared services IT organization that supports statewide technology initiatives.
The organization provides adaptable, secure, and cost-effective technology services and solutions across multiple departments and partners. It manages executive branch IT assets, projects, and resources while delivering high-quality technology services that support citizens and families.

Roles & Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for adhering to established project management governance across multiple current and future initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

Developing and maintaining project schedules

Identifying and staffing required resources

Managing procurement of vendor products and implementation services

Submitting funding requests as needed

Managing delivery efforts and reporting project status through a standardized reporting framework

Collaborating with multiple business and technology teams, including upper-level leadership committees
-
Conducting project meetings and ensuring project tracking, analysis, quality standards, and deliverables are met
The Project Manager will be part of a PMO team responsible for IT project governance, assessment, management, and control. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and adaptability to shifting priorities driven by leadership, departmental needs, and legislative direction.
Duties

Work within an established project governance structure, including methodologies, templates, and reporting requirements

Interact with, educate, learn from, and drive business and IT teams

Operate effectively under broad direction with general supervision

Motivate teams and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Gather and organize multiple, complex business process scenarios simultaneously

Break down complex initiatives into actionable, well-sequenced work items

Manage scope creep while focusing on delivering a minimum viable product

Apply strong time management, project planning, and strategic skills
