Job Type:            Contract

Location:             Manhattan, NY OR Livingston, NJ (Hybrid)

No of positions: 4

Role Overview

  • We are seeking People Operations contractors to provide operational coverage across onboarding, ticketing, contingent workforce lifecycle, and regional HR operations. This work enables internal People team to focus on automation, scaling, and longer-term improvements while ensuring day-to-day execution is reliable and high-quality.
  • Contractors may be assigned specific focus areas (e.g., onboarding, ticketing, contingent lifecycle, EMEA HR Ops), and work may shift over time based on business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Requirement: 1

Onboarding Operations (Employees + Contingent)

  • Coordinate end-to-end onboarding activities for employees and contingent workers (e.g., documentation collection, checklist execution, scheduling, and completion tracking).
  • Coordinate background checks and/or E Verify steps in line with client policies and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates in client systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS, ticketing tools).

Requirement: 2

People Ops Ticketing Support (Tier 1–2; limited Tier 3)

  • Provide Tier 1–2 intake, triage, routing, and resolution of People Ops tickets (onboarding, access, general HR/People Ops inquiries).
  • Maintain ticket hygiene, including categorization, documentation, and closure notes.
  • Escalate complex or sensitive issues (Tier 3) to client SMEs or designated approvers in line with defined workflows.
  • Surface recurring themes and trends that may indicate process or knowledge gaps.

Requirement: 3

Contingent Workforce Lifecycle

  • Execute contingent worker onboarding and offboarding workflows, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain SOPs, checklists, and “standard work” documentation as workflows are formalized and improved.

Requirement: 4

EMEA HR Operations (for EMEA-focused contractors)

  • Provide Tier 1–2 HR operations support for the EMEA employee and contingent population, with limited Tier 3 as assigned.
  • Coordinate handoffs with US-based People Operations to ensure alignment and consistency across regions.

General ways of working

  • Operate within defined intake channels (ticketing systems or agreed request paths) and follow client queue rules, SLAs, and escalation thresholds.
  • Participate in regular check-ins (e.g., weekly) to review queue health, priorities, risks, and blockers.
  • Contribute to lightweight operational deliverables, such as weekly summaries of completed work and next priorities.

Who You Are

  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-change environments where priorities can shift week to week.
  • Comfortable working from both detailed checklists and evolving “first draft” processes, and you help improve both over time.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a track record of executing repeatable workflows with accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator, able to interact with employees, managers, vendors, and HR partners with clarity and professionalism.
  • Collaborative and solutions-oriented—you know when to resolve, when to document, and when to escalate.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years in People Operations, HR Operations, or a similar HR support function (e.g., onboarding, HR shared services, ticketing).
  • Hands-on experience with HR systems (HRIS, ATS, ticketing platforms) and comfort navigating multiple tools in parallel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workflows (onboarding, ticket queues, or contingent lifecycle) with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience handling Tier 1–2 HR/People Ops inquiries and knowing when to escalate more complex or sensitive issues.
  • Proven experience documenting processes or creating SOPs/checklists for recurring workflows.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time across multiple
  • priorities, and align to agreed SLAs and service standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting onboarding operations (employee and/or contingent) in a fast-growing company.
  • Prior work in ticket-based HR support models (e.g., shared services, HR help desk).
  • Familiarity with multi-state US employment environments and/or EMEA HR operations.
  • Experience working with contingent workforce programs and vendors.
  • Comfort working across time zones and collaborating asynchronously.
