Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado (Onsite)

This position will perform duties related to the early phases of the Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle, including concept, requirements, and design activities. The role involves leading the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs into reviewable technical approaches. The work will be performed as a member of an Agile Scrum team in a closed area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs into technical approaches.
- Perform requirements elicitation and decomposition using artifacts such as use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
- Lead the development of physical and logical system models using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools.
- Lead system interface development, converting system and interface requirements into message-level details.
- Support formal and informal engineering technical reviews.
- Create, review, and critique interface documents, system requirements, verification documentation, and architectural documentation.
- Interface with key stakeholders and working-level counterparts as required.
- Participate in Agile development planning and execution, including iteration planning and status reporting.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Must have Systems Engineering/Architecture experience. The ideal candidate will be a Systems Engineer with 5+ years of experience working in an integrated team environment, developing solutions that cover all aspects of the Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle.
Technical Skills: Experience with using MBSE approaches and tools (e.g., Cameo and/or Tableau).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience interacting with customers for the elicitation of needs and requirements.
- Experience with one or more elements of the Missile Defense System.
- Experience with elements involved in Space Defense, Space Domain Awareness, or other Space Missions.
- Experience with complex Command and Control Systems, especially those with heavy networking capabilities.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical content.
- Ability to support urgent tasks without a loss of efficiency.
Work Environment
This is a 100% in-office position. Some travel may be required.
