You.

Platinum Technologies currently has an opportunity for an AIOps Engineer SME to lead the design, deployment, and management of AIOps solutions supporting mission-critical IT operations. This role will transform IT Service Management (ITSM) capabilities through predictive analytics, unified observability, and automated incident response. The engineer will serve as technical lead, coordinating with Network Engineering, ServiceNow, SolarWinds, and cybersecurity teams to strengthen the reliability and security of DoD networks and systems.

This role is located in Fort Belvoir, VA or Albuquerque, NM. Candidate must hold an active Secret clearance at the time of hire. U.S. citizenship is required.

What you get to do.

Lead the AIOps initiative and coordinate Network Engineering, ServiceNow, and SolarWinds teams to establish unified telemetry pipelines.

Architect closed-loop remediation workflows integrating Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) alerts with ServiceNow Event Management and Incident Management.

Design and sustain Splunk AIOps solutions across classified and unclassified environments for real-time operational visibility.

Normalize and correlate SolarWinds network performance and fault data with server and application logs to assess enterprise health.

Build and tune machine learning models using Splunk Machine Learning Toolkit (MLTK) to identify anomalies, potential cyber threats, and infrastructure degradation.

Engineer secure telemetry ingestion pipelines from cross-domain solutions and tactical edge devices.

Use Splunk ITSI to correlate events, reduce alert noise, and prioritize high-impact mission incidents.

Collaborate with the Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) to support defensive cyber operations (DCO).

Ensure observability solutions comply with applicable DoD STIGs and IL5/IL6 requirements; maintain architecture documentation and compliance traceability.

Evaluate evolving AIOps capabilities relevant to DoD, federal, and intelligence mission systems.

Required Skills.

Bachelor's degree with 12-15 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of relevant experience; a technical doctorate or relevant experience, education, and training may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.

Active Secret security clearance at the time of hire and U.S. citizenship.

Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, or SSCP).

7+ years of Splunk Enterprise experience, including architectural design, cluster management, and advanced Search Processing Language (SPL).

3+ years implementing AIOps workflows and integrations with enterprise ITSM solutions such as ServiceNow for automated root-cause analysis and remediation.

Experience developing, testing, and tuning supervised and unsupervised models with Splunk MLTK.

Advanced scripting and automation experience, including Python, custom search commands, APIs, and remediation workflows.

Experience leading technical working groups and coordinating infrastructure and development teams.

Experience in a DoD operations center (NOC/SOC) or supporting mission-critical systems and networks.

Ability to present technical designs, plans, and analyses of alternatives to technical leadership boards for approval.

Preferred Skills.

Experience integrating SolarWinds telemetry with Splunk ITSI and ServiceNow Event Management.

Experience supporting observability and security operations across classified enclaves or cross-domain environments.
