Data Engineer Austin, TX (Hybrid) only on w2 and USC

Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid 3 days onsite, no full remote)

Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design and build scalable tiered data architecture for analytics. The role focuses on data integration, modeling, ETL development, and ensuring high-quality data delivery for business insights.

Required Skills (Must Have):

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Architecture

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Scala, and SQL

• Programming experience in Scala, Python, or Java

• Solid understanding of ETL pipelines, data modeling, and data warehousing

• Experience working with large-scale distributed data systems

Nice to Have:

• Hadoop ecosystem experience

• Airflow or similar orchestration tools

• Understanding of RDBMS vs distributed storage tradeoffs

• Knowledge of design patterns and data governance practices

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable tiered data architecture

• Build and optimize ETL/data pipelines

• Develop data models and transformation logic

• Ensure data accuracy, validation, and reconciliation

• Collaborate with analytics, business, and engineering teams

• Maintain documentation including data dictionaries and mappings
