A client of Apex Systems is hiring a
Data Analyst to perform detailed technical data analysis, then document and communicate results of that analysis to senior staff members. This person will be responsible for writing SQL code to perform the data analysis and comparisons, then tracing the root cause of various differences. Experience with handling, analyzing, and reporting on data is essential to meeting position requirements that include the detailed and deep analysis of data sources, ability to make decisions and recommendations based on that analysis.
**The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced technical depth in SQL and data handling, including:
- SQL Expertise: Advanced querying of structured, semi-structured (JSON), and unstructured data.
- Database Management: Proficient in SQL across structured, unstructured, and JSON data formats.
- Data Engineering & SQL: Expert in parsing and integrating structured, semi-structured (JSON), and unstructured datasets.
Responsibilities:- Attend internal project planning sessions and contribute to overall progress of meeting internal deadlines & milestones.
- Write SQL code to analyze data sets and report on specific metrics related to the analysis findings.
- Understand internal business rules and leverage that information to perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively across all parts of the organization to execute data validation initiatives.
- Follow established data validation procedures to ensure technology implementations are correct and datasets meet acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate and resolve validation quality issues after identification.
Skills/Experience:- 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, statistics, and/or business intelligence.
- 3-5 years data analysis experience, including very strong SQL skills (Google BigQuery strongly preferred).
- Experience with Google Looker (reporting) is a plus
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Google, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of commercial credit or financial data is a plus.
- Self-starter with the ability to dig for answers without constant direct instruction.
- Good organization and project management skills, including using ticketing systems such as JIRA.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization.
- Understanding of databases and database technology.
