EchoStar is seeking a strategic and visionary Lead Agentic AI Engineer to drive our AI initiatives. In this
leadership role, you will provide high-level architectural oversight, mentor engineering teams, and define the future of autonomous multi-agent systems. You will be responsible for moving past experimental proof-of-concepts (POCs) to deliver scalable, highly performant, and cost-effective generative AI products that drive measurable business impact and long-term innovation.

engineering foundations, a deep understanding of standard agentic communication protocols, and hands-on experience with modern orchestration frameworks to shape the next generation of digital experiences.

Primary Responsibilities
· Mentor and lead a team of AI engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
· Define long-term technical strategy for AI roadmap, collaborating with leadership to align engineering
· design with business objectives.
· Conduct architectural reviews and set standards for code quality, scalability, and security
· Design, develop, & deploy AI services and multi-agent workflows in enterprise environments
· Implement open communication protocol integrations with MCP for agent-to-tool integration and A2A
· for secure agent-to-agent coordination and task delegation.
· Architect hybrid control flows, state machines, and graphs to manage multi-step reasoning, balancing
· probabilistic LLM behavior with deterministic code paths for critical backend transactions.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical agent
· specifications and scalable microservices.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
· 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or staff-level capacity, and a proven track record of shipping LLM-powered systems into live production.
· Hands-on experience with cloud-based foundation model platforms, like AWS Bedrock
· Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infra (e.g., Docker, EKS, GitLab CI/CD)
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate complex technical details to varied audience
· Experience with multi-agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen).
· Experience with agent interoperability and communication standards, including MCP and A2A
