Job Description
We are seeking an Mainframe Engineer to join our team onsite. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mainframe application support and delivery and a proven ability to manage cross-functional communications and ensure successful project delivery for manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communications between functional teams and clients to ensure integration of new, enhanced, and existing applications meets specifications.
- Partner with account management and delivery teams to identify, develop, and implement customer solutions.
- Identify application improvements to drive customer and stakeholder satisfaction and coordinate timely implementation.
- Ensure projects meet client and company expectations for quality, scope, schedule, and outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in business administration, engineering, information systems, or related field preferred.
- Six or more years in support services, project, or program roles within the technology industry.
- Experience with company products, operating systems, and computer systems usage in enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in COBOL, TSO, JCL, IMS, and DB2 on mainframe platforms.
Preferred Skills:
- COBOL with ADASQL, ADABAS/Natural for z/OS, ADABAS Report & Structure Modes, and ADABAS Predict.
- CICS, TSO/ISPF, and advanced JCL.
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) processes and the full application development life cycle.
- Manufacturing or steel industry experience in scheduling, production, inventory, and shipping.
