Job Details

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Analyze plant processes and support optimization and reliability of production assets.
  • Design, program, test, and troubleshoot automation systems for aseptic filling and processing lines.
  • Provide machine support for PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, robotics, and industrial control systems.
  • Support motion control systems, measurement instrumentation, and material handling systems.
  • Maintain and support industrial networks and computer system hardware/software for MES and data systems.
  • Work within plant electrical controls standards for installation and maintenance.
  • Manage upgrades, overhauls, and conversions of aseptic filling and process lines.
  • Participate in engineering change management processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training to maintenance and operations teams on equipment and system functionality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Provide rotating after-hours engineering support when required.

Qualifications
Needed:
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience.

Experience
  • Minimum 4-6 years of controls engineering or automation experience in manufacturing or production environments.
  • At least 2 years working with aseptic processing or packaging systems.

Technical Skills
  • Strong experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley / Rockwell).
  • Experience with HMI and SCADA platforms (Ignition, Wonderware).
  • Knowledge of motion control systems, VFDs, robotics, and safety hardware.
  • Familiarity with vision inspection systems (Cognex or Keyence).
  • Experience installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting packaging and processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing operations, FDA regulations, and NFPA electrical safety standards (70/70E/78).
  • Experience with AutoCAD.

Other Requirements
  • Ability to support equipment troubleshooting and upgrades in production environments.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
