The DS (Distributed Systems) Engineering and Integration team is responsible for engineering, automating, securing, and supporting strategic financial messaging and middleware platforms across distributed Linux, cloud, virtualized, and appliance-based environments.

Products and technologies supported include, but are not limited to:

• Broadridge Appia and TradeScope FIX platforms
• Open-source QuickFIX platforms
• SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA)
• SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG)
• SWIFTNet services including FIN, FINPlus, InterAct, and FileAct
• ISO 15022 (MT) and ISO 20022 (MX) financial messaging standards
• Container platforms including OpenShift (OCP), Kubernetes, and AWS cloud services

The engineer will be responsible for architecture, engineering, deployment, automation, security, modernization, and operational support of enterprise FIX and SWIFT infrastructures. This role partners closely with Linux, Networking, Cloud Engineering, Cyber Security, Application Development, Client Connectivity, and Business Operations teams to implement resilient, secure, and scalable financial messaging solutions.

The position participates in production support, disaster recovery testing, cybersecurity initiatives, platform modernization efforts, and on-call rotations supporting mission-critical financial market infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Operations

• Design, engineer, deploy, automate, and support FIX and SWIFT messaging infrastructures across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Lead implementation of container-based platforms supporting QuickFIX and related middleware solutions using OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Independently install, configure, customize, integrate, and support commercial and open-source middleware products using modern DevOps practices.
• Provide L2 and L3 engineering support for business-critical production environments.
• Participate in on-call support rotations, weekend implementations, disaster recovery exercises, and cyber resiliency testing.
• Manage platform capacity planning, performance tuning, high availability, and resiliency initiatives.

SWIFT Infrastructure Engineering

• Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and support SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA), SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG), and related SWIFT infrastructure components.
• Support SWIFTNet services including FIN, FINPlus, InterAct, and FileAct messaging.
• Manage SWIFT message routing, message partner configuration, endpoint definitions, service profiles, distinguished names (DNs), and security configurations.
• Support ISO 15022 (MT) and ISO 20022 (MX) message flows, validation, troubleshooting, and integration activities.
• Engineer and support secure SWIFT connectivity including gateways, VPN infrastructure, HSM integrations, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.
• Participate in SWIFT modernization initiatives and migration programs involving ISO 20022 adoption and enterprise messaging transformations.
• Support annual SWIFT Customer Security Program (CSP) compliance activities, attestation requirements, and implementation of mandatory security controls.
• Assist with SWIFT resiliency, redundancy, failover, and recovery architecture including alternate gateway and delivery-path implementations.

 DevOps, Automation & Cloud Engineering

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Automate system provisioning, configuration management, deployment, monitoring, and recovery procedures.
• Build and maintain Docker images, Kubernetes deployments, Helm configurations, and OpenShift application deployments.
• Support AWS infrastructure components and cloud-native platform services.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code and platform engineering best practices.

 Incident, Problem & Change Management

• Perform root cause analysis for complex FIX and SWIFT platform incidents.
• Troubleshoot middleware, network, infrastructure, and application connectivity issues.
• Participate in incident response, change implementation, problem management, and production support activities.
• Partner with application and infrastructure teams to resolve critical production issues and prevent recurrence.
• Ensure adherence to Customer’s Incident, Change, Problem, Risk, and Control management standards.

 Documentation & Governance

• Develop and maintain engineering standards, operational playbooks, architecture diagrams, and support procedures.
• Create knowledge-transfer materials and conduct cross-training sessions.
• Recommend process improvements, operational efficiencies, and technology modernization opportunities.
• Ensure platforms conform to security, audit, operational risk, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum 6 years of experience supporting enterprise middleware, financial messaging, or distributed systems platforms.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Kubernetes.
• Proven experience administering Linux-based mission-critical environments.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and automation frameworks.

 Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of Broadridge Appia, QuickFIX, FIX Protocol, and FIX order flows.
• Strong knowledge of SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA), SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG), and SWIFT messaging infrastructure.
• Experience supporting SWIFT FIN, FINPlus, InterAct, and FileAct services.
• Understanding of ISO 15022 (MT) and ISO 20022 (MX) messaging standards.
• Experience supporting secure financial messaging environments and regulatory controls.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Ansible, Terraform, AWS, and Git-based development workflows.
• Strong Linux administration and networking skills.
• Proficiency with Bash, Python, Perl, or similar scripting languages.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• SWIFT Certified Engineer, SWIFT Alliance Access, Alliance Gateway, or related certifications.
• Experience supporting SWIFT CSP (Customer Security Program) compliance initiatives.
• Experience implementing highly available SWIFT/FIX architectures and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience supporting high-volume financial messaging and trading infrastructures.
• Knowledge of financial markets, securities processing, settlement systems, or market infrastructure environments.
• Experience integrating SWIFT messaging with MQ, Kafka, APIs, or enterprise middleware platforms.
• Experience supporting cloud transformation and modernization initiatives for financial messaging platforms.
