Position Description:
Fennec Software D&R Engineer The Fennec TCU Software Design & Release Engineer is responsible for ensuring the successful and timely delivery of Fennec software across global vehicle programs and electrical architectures. This role operates in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and requires strong cross-functional coordination, disciplined release management, and hands-on vehicle support.
1. Software Release Management
Release Fennec software into the AELE core WERS system and IVS/JFrog repositories.
Release program-specific Fennec software in the WERS AE00 system.
2. Supplier BTP (Built-to-Print) Project Management
Establish and maintain the BTP supplier project framework.
Define clear deliverables, timelines, and acceptance criteria.
Author and release Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) governing all Fennec variants and program-specific software.
Manage associated ED&T funding requirements.
3. Program Deliverables per GPDS
Own and deliver all engineering sign-off activities in alignment with GPDS for global vehicle programs.
Produce key engineering documents, including:
Vehicle-specific configuration specifications
Network Interface Designs (NID)
Special Characteristics Communication and Agreement forms
Requirements and regulatory classifications
Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R)
4. Vehicle Support & Troubleshooting
Perform on-site software flashing, validation, and diagnostics from early development (EBB) through OKTB and into ongoing production.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with vehicle program teams, system integration, vehicle operations, software development and release teams, and OTA organizations to ensure successful vehicle launches and robust OTA campaign execution.

Communication & Organization: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Agile Methodology: Proven experience operating within Agile frameworks, with advanced proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Technical Documentation: Expert-level skill in authoring comprehensive engineering documents and delivering high-impact technical presentations.
Project Governance: Demonstrated ability to establish robust project frameworks, including the clear definition of milestones, deliverables, and critical-path timelines.
Vehicle Software Integration: Strong understanding of software planning and the vehicle program release lifecycle. Direct experience with Ford systems, specifically WERS and IVS, is highly desirable.
Quality & Validation: Practical knowledge of automotive quality standards, specifically in executing DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
