Description:
Responsibilities
  • Perform structural stress analysis for primary and secondary spacecraft components, including static, modal, buckling, and frequency-response evaluations.
  • Utilize Nastran to execute high-fidelity finite-element analyses and deliver accurate, reliable structural predictions.
  • Plan, execute, and interpret structural and environmental qualification tests such as static, modal, acoustic, shock, and vibration assessments to validate system performance.
  • Apply industry-standard engineering and simulation tools-including Simcenter, FEMAP, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, MATLAB, Adams, SolidWorks, and Python-to support modelling, simulation, and optimization activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, systems, and test engineering teams to ensure structural integrity, reliability, and compliance with program requirements.
  • Document analyses, test results, and technical findings in clear, traceable, and review-ready engineering reports.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of structural or stress analysis experience (flexible based on demonstrated expertise).
  • Hands-on experience with Nastran for linear and dynamic structural analyses.
  • Experience performing dynamic and environmental analyses, including shock and vibration.
  • Proficiency with pre-processing tools such as FEMAP.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced experience with MATLAB for data processing, automation, and analysis scripting.
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft structures, composite materials, or high-reliability mechanical systems.
  • Experience developing and executing structural test plans.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
