Job Description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Expert knowledge of network fundamentals, including protocols, server/desktop environments, network hardware/software, network management tools

• Strong understanding of Network / Micro / Application Segmentation based on secure data flows

• Hands on expertise in Palo Alto firewall policy design, review, implementation, and troubleshooting

• Ability to understand and evaluate Data Flows

• Ability to write allow/deny policies based on communicated criteria

• Ability to parse firewall logs and create/modify rules based on validated data flows

• Strong understanding of Security Access Rules, ACLs, source/destination rules

• Understanding of protocol communication, active/passive ports, and their relevance in rules creation

• Experience in IP Address Subnetting and Management

• Ability to analyze large datasets using Excel (vLookup, IF, Average, Search, Pivot Tables, Sort, Filter)

• Required certification: CCNP or higher (active)

• 15+ years total IT industry experience and 8+ years as a Security Consultant with Palo Alto

• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Arista network hardware/software

• Operational experience with Illumio Host Agent
