Title: GenAI / Small Language Model (SLM) Engineer

Location: New Jersey (Onsite)

Role Overview
This role focuses on designing, deploying, and operating production-grade agentic AI solutions. The engineer will work end-to-end from data preparation and model fine-tuning to agent orchestration, safety guardrails, evaluation, and MLOps partnering closely with product, architecture, security, and QA teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Fine-tune and optimize small language models using LoRA/adapters/PEFT
• Design and implement single-agent and multi-agent workflows with tool/function calling
• Build and maintain RAG pipelines using vector databases
• Develop robust AI services with retries, fallbacks, and cost controls
• Implement prompt versioning, automated testing, and regression datasets
• Monitor model/agent performance, drift, latency, and safety signals
• Enforce AI guardrails including PII redaction, content filtering, and misuse prevention
• Collaborate on risk assessments, compliance, and approval workflows

Required Skills

• 4 8+ years of software/ML engineering experience
• 2+ years delivering LLM/SLM/GenAI solutions in production
• Strong Python (TypeScript is a plus)
• Experience with LangChain, Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework, or Google ADK
• Hands-on RAG, vector databases, and agent design patterns
• Practical understanding of AI safety, evaluation, and observability

Preferred Skills

• MLOps (MLflow, CI/CD, model packaging)
• Cloud AI platforms (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock)
• Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform/Bicep
• Multi-agent orchestration and evaluation frameworks (Ragas, DeepEval)

Ideal Candidates

• Engineers with strong backend or ML foundations who have recently built and operated enterprise GenAI systems, especially in regulated environments.
