Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Google Cloud Platform Solution Architect with a strong background in data engineering, cloud architecture, and enterprise‑scale solution design. This individual will lead the architecture, design, and delivery of modern data platforms on Google Cloud, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with excellent communication skills, enabling them to work directly with executives, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

Google Cloud Platform Architecture & Solution Design

- Architect end‑to‑end data engineering and analytics solutions on Google Cloud Platform

- Design scalable architectures using:

- BigQuery

- Cloud Storage

- Dataflow / Apache Beam

- Pub/Sub

- Dataproc

- Cloud Composer (Airflow)

- Vertex AI (optional but preferred)

- Define cloud‑native patterns for ingestion, transformation, governance, and consumption

Data Engineering Leadership

- Lead the design of batch, streaming, and real‑time data pipelines

- Optimize BigQuery storage, partitioning, clustering, and cost management

- Establish best practices for data modeling, ELT/ETL, and distributed processing

- Guide teams on performance tuning, workload orchestration, and pipeline reliability

Enterprise Architecture & Governance

- Define standards for data quality, lineage, metadata, and cataloging

- Implement IAM, VPC‑SC, encryption, and enterprise‑grade security controls

- Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational data policies

Stakeholder & Communication Excellence

- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders

- Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, and executive presentations

- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across engineering, analytics, and product

- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal leadership

Delivery & Leadership

- Drive solution delivery from concept to production

- Mentor data engineers and guide technical implementation

- Support RFPs, proposals, and architectural assessments

- Operate autonomously in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment

 

Required Qualifications

- 15+ years of industry experience in data engineering, cloud architecture, or enterprise data platforms

- 8+ years designing large‑scale data solutions, preferably in client‑facing roles

- Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Composer)

- Strong experience with data modeling, warehousing, and distributed systems

- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data pipeline frameworks

- Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform preferred)

- Exceptional communication skills—able to simplify complexity and influence decision‑making

- Experience working with global teams and leading multi‑region delivery

- Experience with Vertex AI, ML pipelines, or MLOps

- Exposure to multi‑cloud environments (AWS/Azure)

- Familiarity with dbt, Kafka, or enterprise integration patterns
