Controls Engineer | Ludington, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Ludington that are seeking skilled Controls Engineers. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and implements control systems for manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with existing control systems and automation equipment.
  • Develops and maintains PLC programs, HMI applications, and robotic control logic.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate new equipment and processes.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards and industry regulations for control systems.
  • Conducts system testing, validation, and optimization to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Provides technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIs.
  • Proven experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
  • Strong understanding of robotics and motion control systems, preferably with experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control loop diagrams.
  • Experience with vision systems, sensors, and other industrial automation components.
