CALEA Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a CALEA Engineer in Littleton, CO.

Key Responsibilities:
* CALEA Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain CALEA-compliant lawful intercept solutions across 5G network functions
* Support real-time lawful intercept operations within a 5G standalone (SA) architecture
* Configure, test, and troubleshoot lawful intercept mediation devices and collection platforms
* Develop and maintain documentation including: System architecture diagrams; Call flows; Compliance documentation; Operational procedures
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Legal, Security, and Operations to ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness
* Lead change management efforts related to CALEA services, including method of procedure (MOP) development and validation testing
* Manage vendor relationships, integrations, and performance expectations
* Interface with law enforcement agencies and third-party vendors to validate lawful intercept functionality and resolve technical issues
* Stay current on CALEA regulations, FCC requirements, 3GPP/ATIS standards, and emerging industry best practices
* As a CALEA Engineer, you will provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders
* Ensure the security, integrity, and confidentiality of CALEA-related data and systems
* Support incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field (equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree)
* 2+ years of telecom engineering experience
* Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience with CALEA or lawful intercept implementation in 4G/5G environments
* Hands-on experience with cloud-native network environments, preferably AWS
* Experience with lawful intercept mediation platforms and provisioning systems
* Experience working with Network Function Virtualization (NFV)
* Experience with Kubernetes in a cloud environment
* Experience supporting compliance audits and regulatory requirements
* Experience working directly with law enforcement agencies
* Strong understanding of 5G Core (5GC) architecture and related 3GPP standards
* Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (Python, Bash, etc.)
* Understanding of electronic surveillance legal and regulatory frameworks
* Strong troubleshooting skills, including incident management and root cause analysis

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
