The Global Positioning System (GPS) provides the position, navigation, and timing signals used by all major US military assets, global financial markets, transportation systems, utilities, agriculture and construction industries, and individuals worldwide. The GPS III/IIIF satellites provide improved accuracy and significantly enhanced anti-jam capabilities to prevent both US and allied forces from being denied GPS access in hostile environments. This position will lead the GPS III Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team in support of the development, production, integration, test, and delivery of future GPS III satellites. This leader reports to the Engineering and Technology Systems Integration and Engineering Organization with direct support to the GPS program manager.
What does this role look like?
Your responsibilities include managing a large portfolio, executing efforts associated with GPS Flight Software/Simulators, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Space to Ground Integration and Specialty Engineering. You will lead the definition and execution of the GPS IIIF System Engineering Activities required to develop, integrate, test, and deliver GPS IIIF satellites.
This includes leading efforts to:
Lead a multi-disciplinary team, including responsibility for technical direction, planning, staffing and scope execution of flight software, cybersecurity, specialty and system engineering to ensure collaboration across program and meet critical program milestones.
Collaborate with subcontractors, other segments and ground teams to ensure enterprise events are planned and executed successfully.
Provide guidance through a broad range of activities to ensure the technical integrity and successful delivery and fielding, to include the full Systems Engineering lifecycle from architecture and requirements development through integration and launch
Maintain and manage the technical requirements baseline, Integration efforts, Systems Engineering Technical and Readiness Reviews and Verification and Validation execution
Establish and foster customer relationships in support of distributed multi-element deliveries and activities addressing dynamic priorities and challenging funding profiles
Lead and perform technical planning, system integration, validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for all systems.
Serve as a primary point of contact for SEIT with the customer, program management, other program segments, central engineering organizations, external partners and subcontractors.
Drive critical engineering skill development, including software development, HW/SW integration, cybersecurity, requirements management.
Grow leaders and mentor team members to cultivate our next generation of engineering talent.

Basic Qualifications
Experience in an engineering or management role for spacecraft related systems
Demonstrated business acumen, management influence and systems thinking
Experience interfacing, partnering, and building effective relationships with government customers
Experience leading teams on large government development programs, or equivalent
Advanced Systems Engineering and Integration Experience to include demonstrated experience implementing Systems Engineering processes (i.e. requirements V&V, review boards, and executing milestone reviews- SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR)
Current DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance, thus ship is required
Desired skills
Experience with GPS (design/development/integration/theory of operation)
10 years (min) of Systems Engineering and Integration Experience
5 years (min) of Leadership experience
Experience with software/hardware production, test, integration and operation
Experience with Cybersecurity RMF processes
Understanding of DoD contracts and funding types to include experience leading/executing fixed price efforts
Experience identifying, managing, and addressing program risks & opportunities
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence teams that don't functionally report
Demonstrated ability to mentor other leaders and individual contributors
Demonstrated consistency with high ethical standards and conduct
Ability to maintain process discipline in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Current Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200 - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $173,900 - $301,415. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
