API Integration Developer (Workato)

What you'll do

• Design, build, version, and maintain secure REST APIs, including schemas, validation, and error handling.

• Build Workato recipes and reusable functions, and publish endpoints through Workato API Platform, including collections, client access, and usage policies.

• Integrate Salesforce (case management, objects, APIs, platform events) with databases, React-based applications, and external client systems.

• Build resilient integrations with pagination, batching, retries, idempotency, and recovery from partial failures.

• Protect PHI/PII in payloads, logs, and credentials in line with HIPAA and company security standards.

• Partner with business owners, QA, security, and external client technical teams to turn requirements into designs.

• Lead design reviews, mentor developers, and set integration standards and documentation practices.

• Monitor jobs, troubleshoot production issues, and own root-cause analysis and support procedures.

• Manage releases across dev, test, and production under our change control process.

Required

• 6+ years of experience building and supporting APIs and enterprise integrations, including 2+ years of hands-on Workato.

• Strong REST, JSON, webhooks, OAuth 2.0, and token management skills.

• Hands-on Salesforce integration experience.

• Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases.

• Experience with Postman (or equivalent) and Git.

• Experience integrating with external clients or third parties, including onboarding and troubleshooting.

• Clear communicator who can explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

• Healthcare experience, especially appeals, grievances, claims, or Medicare/Medicaid operations; HIPAA/PHI handling.

• Workato Connector SDK and Ruby; Workato certifications.

• Working knowledge of React and how front ends consume APIs.

• OpenAPI, CI/CD, API gateways, AWS or Azure.
