Test Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Test Engineer in Jersey City, NJ.

Responsibilities:
* Design and execute test strategies aligned to business requirements and user stories
* Build and maintain automated test frameworks (UI, API, backend) using Selenium and Java
* Develop and run end-to-end, integration, regression, and performance tests
* Write complex SQL queries to validate data and backend processes
* Partner with developers to ensure full test coverage and understanding of code logic
* Create and manage test data for diverse and edge-case scenarios
* Maintain traceability from requirements through test cases and automation
* Collaborate in cross-functional Agile teams and support process improvements
* Identify risks, track defects, and drive quality outcomes with stakeholders
* Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket)
* Analyze results and deliver clear reporting on quality metrics
* Manage test environments, data, and dependencies for smooth execution
* Promote quality engineering and automation best practices
* Mentor junior team members and support team development
* Ensure compliance with risk, control, and regulatory standards

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
* 3+ years in software testing, automation, or QA
* Strong programming skills (Java, Python, or similar)
* Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium)
* Proficiency in SQL and data validation
* Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices
* Strong understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (financial services experience a plus)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
