Data Architect AWS Hybrid – Clinton, NJ

Introduction: The Data Architect AWS Hybrid will play a key role in leading the design and implementation of a multi-zone AWS data architecture. This individual will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive assessment of current data systems, collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, and recommending appropriate AWS services and tools for data solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of a multi-zone AWS data architecture (Raw/Landing, Integration, Analytical, Reporting zones).
• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current on-premises and cloud data systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
• Define and enforce enterprise data standards, modeling conventions, and governance practices.
• Develop a roadmap and transition plan for migrating to the proposed AWS architecture.
• Mentor and guide data engineers and analysts on architecture principles and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred).
• AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty (highly desirable).
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lake Formation, EMR).
• Experience with Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, AWS Lake Formation, and Amazon EMR.
• Proven experience in cloud migration and multi-database environments.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred / Nice to Have:

• Experience with BI tools (Quick Sight Reporting, Tableau, Looker) and self-service analytics.
• Exposure to DevOps practices for data pipelines.
• Familiarity with big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop) and AI/ML integration.
• Previous experience in cross-functional, global teams.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred).
• AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty (highly desirable).
• Any other cloud/data certifications (e.g., Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform/Azure knowledge a plus).
