Role: Data Architect – Pharma Domain

Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite)

Job Summary:

We are looking 12+ years experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in the pharmaceutical domain to design and lead scalable data architecture solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of data modeling, cloud data platforms, ETL frameworks, and a strong understanding of pharma data including clinical, regulatory, and commercial datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement enterprise data architecture for pharma and life sciences data platforms.
Define data models, data standards, and best practices for structured and unstructured data.
Architect scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using tools like Informatica or similar.
Work with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Integrate data from multiple sources including clinical trials, regulatory systems, and commercial data.
Ensure data governance, quality, security, and compliance with industry standards (FDA, HIPAA).
Collaborate with business, clinical, and IT stakeholders to define data strategy and solutions.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineering and BI teams.
Optimize performance and scalability of data systems.

Required Skills:

Strong experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Informatica preferred).
Expertise in SQL and database technologies (Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Strong understanding of pharma domain data (clinical, regulatory, commercial).
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
Exposure to advanced analytics or machine learning platforms.
Experience with metadata management and data catalog tools.

Experience:

12+ years of overall experience in data engineering/architecture.
5+ years in a data architect or senior leadership role.
Pharma or life sciences domain experience is required.
