This entry-level Mechanical Engineer position is a hands-on role in a MIL-STD-810 environmental test laboratory. Engineers work in a highly technical, team-oriented environment focused on validating hardware performance and reliability under representative operating conditions. The lab's primary capabilities include shaker tables for vibration and shock testing and thermal chambers for temperature and thermal cycling, with additional specialized equipment available to support a range of environmental scenarios.

As a member of the lab team, you will gain deep exposure to instrumentation setup, environmental test methods, and formal engineering documentation practices used in a defense contracting setting. The position provides the opportunity to apply engineering fundamentals to practical test scenarios, collaborate with experienced engineers across multiple disciplines, and see how environmental testing supports product development, qualification, and customer acceptance.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing basic support in instrumentation planning and test conduct of Environmental Tests including vibration, mechanical shock, temperature, altitude, humidity and structural testing
  • Providing basic support to preparation of test plans, schedules, test reports and technical documentation of project work
  • Applying your engineering knowledge and participating as a member of a multi-discipline team
  • Contributing to the completion of project/program milestones under the general guidance of the immediate supervisor and team leaders
  • Following established environmental test processes and procedures
  • Must be able to obtain and mantain a DoD secret clearance

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or a degree in a related field
