For this contractor assignment, We are seeking a Senior Application Developer contractor to support an AI solution within the Planview Program. The role primarily focuses on Snowflake development, data engineering, integration, and troubleshooting, with an emphasis on building and supporting data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, views, transformations, and the overall data foundation using Snowflake, Python, and SQL.
The ideal candidate also has practical experience integrating generative AI into applications through APIs, RAG, agents, or similar patterns, and can help operationalize AI capabilities in partnership with data architecture, AI, and application teams. This is not a data scientist or advanced machine learning research role, but it does require an understanding of how enterprise data is prepared for AI use and how AI inputs and outputs are integrated, tested, monitored, and supported in an Agile environment.

responsibilities:
Develop Snowflake-based data solutions that support application, data, and AI use cases.
- Profile, map, transform, normalize, and validate data from multiple source systems.
- Build and maintain Snowflake queries, views, data pipelines, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Translate business rules into Snowflake transformations that provide reliable inputs to AI models.
- Support data migrations and integrations between Snowflake, APIs, and other applications.
- Develop connections that allow authorized users and downstream applications to access Snowflake data and views.
- Collaborate with AI developers to prepare, structure, and expose data for AI predictions, RAG solutions, agents, and other AI-enabled functionality.
- Support integration of AI capabilities through REST APIs, Azure OpenAI APIs, internal enterprise AI APIs, or similar services.
- Assist with operationalizing AI functionality, including processing model inputs and outputs, storing results, supporting integrations, and troubleshooting failures.
- Develop lightweight Python or JavaScript components to support data processing, API integration, AI workflows, and automation.
- Troubleshoot data quality, SQL performance, database connectivity, API, pipeline, and application integration issues.
- Support testing and validation of data transformations and AI-enabled application functionality.
- Document technical designs, business rules, data mappings, known solutions, and support procedures.
- Participate in Agile planning, development, testing, demonstrations, and production support activities.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, business partners, and project team members.
- Provide technical guidance to other developers as appropriate.
qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years related work experience programming and supporting software applications.
- {OR} Completion of a technical training program and 4 years related work experience programming and supporting software applications.
- {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher in an Information Technology or related field of study (e.g. Engineering, Math, Science) and 4 years related work experience programming and supporting software applications
