About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with strong experience in manufacturing documentation to support a high-growth hardware environment. This role focuses on developing and maintaining high-quality technical content-including work instructions (WIs), equipment SOPs, and preventive maintenance (PM) plans-for electronics, mechanical, or optical assembly operations. You will work fully onsite in Redmond, collaborating closely with engineering teams, end users, and stakeholders to enhance content systems, streamline documentation processes, and support change management initiatives.
What We're Looking For 1. Technical Writing Experience in a Manufacturing Environment- Experience producing documentation for production floors, hardware builds, assembly lines, or factory operations.
2. Hardware-Focused Technical Writing- Experience documenting electronics, mechanical assembly, optical assembly, and testing processes.
- Ability to provide writing samples showcasing this experience.
3. Expertise Creating Manufacturing Documentation- Work Instructions (WIs)
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Preventive Maintenance (PM) Plans
- Candidates who explicitly reference these document types will receive top consideration.
Top Required Skills- Technical writing experience within manufacturing.
- Experience documenting electronics, mechanical assembly, or optical assembly/testing.
- Proven ability to create and publish work instructions, equipment SOPs, and PM plans.
Job Responsibilities- Create and maintain work instructions for multiple product lines, including performing routine audits for quality and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain platforms that house training, reference, and troubleshooting content across product lines.
- Support the deployment engineering change management process.
- Contribute to content management and project management strategies by gathering input, designing templates, and defining documentation best practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of technical content using engagement metrics and collaborate with data teams to review and validate findings.
- Identify process and documentation improvements, remove roadblocks, and design content-related solutions.
- Act as a subject-matter advisor for teams producing draft source documentation.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $47.00 - $47.00/hr.
