Position OverviewWe are seeking an analytical and driven
Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to support automation, safety, and facility control systems for advanced manufacturing and semiconductor environments. Based in Boise, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, develop, and commission complex industrial process control solutions while expanding your technical expertise in an active construction setting.
Key Responsibilities- System Design & Engineering: Design instrumentation, control, and automation systems; prepare P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and comprehensive design documentation.
- Equipment Sizing & Specifications: Perform instrument and control valve sizing, develop equipment data sheets, and write detailed control narratives and sequences of operation.
- Vendor & Project Coordination: Review vendor submittals, coordinate closely with multidisciplinary project teams, and participate in client technical discussions.
- Field Support & Commissioning: Provide engineering support during construction, startup, and commissioning phases within active industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities.
Qualifications & Requirements- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Experience: 4+ years of professional instrumentation and controls experience, ideally supporting semiconductor, data center, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Technical Competencies: Working knowledge of PLC- and SCADA-based control systems (experience with Siemens, Omron, or DeviceNet preferred), familiarity with NFPA 70 and UL508A standards, and proficiency with engineering tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
- Credentials & Soft Skills: Engineer in Training (EIT) or PE certification is strongly preferred. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential for effective teamwork in fast-paced field environments.
