Cable Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cable Technician to support large-scale new construction cabling projects in the Nashville area. This is a long-term opportunity offering steady work and the ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with voice and data cabling, can work independently from blueprints, and is comfortable potentially leading helpers.

Top Skills & Responsibilities

• Install voice and data cabling in new construction environments
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
• Run jobs independently, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and provide updates to project leads
• Manage helpers on site, ensuring productivity and quality of work
• Interface professionally with customers and other trades in the field
• Install cable pathways including tray, J-hooks, and conduit
• Pull and dress Category 6+ copper and fiber optic cable
• Terminate faceplates, jacks, and patch panels
• Follow job site safety standards and construction best practices

Qualifications

• Extensive experience installing low-voltage voice and data cabling
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on active construction sites
• Experience leading or mentoring junior technicians or helpers
• Strong communication skills for customer and team interaction
• Familiarity with hand tools, drills, and general construction equipment
• Experience in low voltage, electrical, or general construction preferred

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
