Overview

We’re supporting a key Zero Trust transformation effort with the FDIC, focused on modernizing security architecture across enterprise systems.

This role is ideal for a senior-level architect who can operate both strategically and hands-on—owning assessments, defining architecture, and helping drive implementation across Zero Trust pillars.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) across FDIC systems
  • Assess current-state security posture and perform gap and maturity assessments
  • Design and define future-state (TO-BE) architecture aligned to Zero Trust principles
  • Develop implementation roadmaps and transformation strategies
  • Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to evaluate impact across business and technical environments
  • Recommend technologies, integrations, and security controls aligned to ZTA
  • Map requirements to security frameworks (NIST, CISA) and enterprise controls
  • Contribute to governance, policy, and process improvements supporting Zero Trust adoption
  • Stay current on federal and commercial Zero Trust best practices and emerging technologies

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise security architecture and design
  • Strong expertise in Zero Trust concepts, frameworks, and implementation strategies
  • Experience performing security assessments, gap analysis, and roadmap development
  • Background designing conceptual, logical, and physical security architectures
  • Experience with enterprise environments including:
    • Identity and access management (IAM, SSO, RBAC)
    • Network segmentation and secure access
    • Endpoint security / EDR platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike or similar)
    • SIEM and security monitoring tools
  • Experience aligning solutions to frameworks such as NIST and CISA
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

Nice to Have

  • Experience in federal or regulated environments
  • Exposure to cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience developing cost models, BOEs, or implementation plans
