Job Title: Zero Trust Architect

Overview
We’re supporting a key Zero Trust transformation effort with the FDIC, focused on modernizing security architecture across enterprise systems.
This role is ideal for a senior-level architect who can operate both strategically and hands-on—owning assessments, defining architecture, and helping drive implementation across Zero Trust pillars.
Responsibilities
- Support implementation of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) across FDIC systems
- Assess current-state security posture and perform gap and maturity assessments
- Design and define future-state (TO-BE) architecture aligned to Zero Trust principles
- Develop implementation roadmaps and transformation strategies
- Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to evaluate impact across business and technical environments
- Recommend technologies, integrations, and security controls aligned to ZTA
- Map requirements to security frameworks (NIST, CISA) and enterprise controls
- Contribute to governance, policy, and process improvements supporting Zero Trust adoption
- Stay current on federal and commercial Zero Trust best practices and emerging technologies
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise security architecture and design
- Strong expertise in Zero Trust concepts, frameworks, and implementation strategies
- Experience performing security assessments, gap analysis, and roadmap development
- Background designing conceptual, logical, and physical security architectures
- Experience with enterprise environments including:
- Identity and access management (IAM, SSO, RBAC)
- Network segmentation and secure access
- Endpoint security / EDR platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike or similar)
- SIEM and security monitoring tools
- Experience aligning solutions to frameworks such as NIST and CISA
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have
- Experience in federal or regulated environments
- Exposure to cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience developing cost models, BOEs, or implementation plans
