Job Title: Director of Engineering (Mechanical/Engineering)
Location: 100% onsite near Anaheim, CA
Travel: Up to 15%
Compensation: $200,000 to 230,000 (doe) plus annual bonus

Partnered with a client who is looking for a strategic, people first Director of Engineering to guide innovation, execute a long-term product development, and drive excellence across tools and instruments portfolio. In this role, you'll shape long term engineering strategy, elevate organizational capability, and develop and guide high impact teams to deliver differentiated, customer focused products.

You will champion operational rigor, implementing scalable processes, Lean practices, and performance metrics that strengthen productivity, predictability, and product quality across multiple concurrent programs. You'll partner closely with Product, Operations, Quality, and external ODMs to streamline execution and accelerate innovation from concept through launch - full product lifecycle.

As a senior leader, you will oversee budgeting, resource planning, and organizational investments, ensuring the right balance between near term delivery and long term capability building.
What You Bring
- 12+ years of progressive R&D leadership with experience managing managers and guiding cross functional engineering organizations.
- A bachelor's degree in a STEM field (advanced degree preferred).
- A technical background stemming from a strong Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or Electrical Engineering
- A track record of leading new product development and collaborating with ODMs and strategic suppliers. Must have full product lifecycle experience from concept to delivery of electrical-mechanical products.
- Strength in strategic planning, financial stewardship, and performance management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across technical and business teams.
- Experience with Lean development and modern engineering tools.
