Tier 2 IT/OT Support Specialist
Location: Alexandria LA
Duration: 6 months contract to hire
Job Description:
Our client in manufacturing is seeking a skilled Tier 2 IT/OT Support Specialist to act as a critical bridge between IT and Operational Technology (OT). This role is not entry-level (Tier 1); it requires a proactive, hands-on professional comfortable with both server room hardware (racking/stacking, cabling) and network device configuration (switches, firewalls). This resource will support the corporate IT environment (primarily Dell/Windows) and the industrial side, managing Allen-Bradley PLCs and Palo Alto firewalls. Regional travel to Hope AR and Diboll TX is required (plus gas/mileage).
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure & Hardware: Perform racking, stacking, and cable management in network racks based on server team specifications
- Networking & Configuration: Configure and maintain network devices (switches, firewalls), experience with Palo Alto firewalls on the OT side is necessary
- OT/Industrial Support: Install, troubleshoot, and support OT equipment, including Allen-Bradley PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces)
- Systems Administration: Manage Windows servers, including imaging, patching, and troubleshooting
- User Support & AD: Perform Tier 2 desktop/network troubleshooting and Active Directory tasks (password resets, group policies)
- MDM Management: Manage mobile devices and workstations via Microsoft Intune, with potential transition to JAMF
Must have:
- 2+ years of Tier 2 IT support experience
- OT Experience (Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs or similar) and Palo Alto firewalls
- Networking Knowledge (Strong routing/switching experience - Fortinet preferred, Cisco is ok)
- Hardware Knowledge (Racking/stacking, cabling, and server maintenance)
- OS/Systems (Windows OS)
- MDM (Intune)
- Active Directory (AD) user/group management

- Experience with JAMF
