Senior Data Scientist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kofrce has a client that is seeking a Senior Data Scientist in Phoenix, AZ (local candidates required). This role is hybrid, 4 days onsite/1 day remote. This client is a well-established, nationwide organization that is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its growing analytics team. We are partnering directly with the hiring manager on this search for a high impact, senior level contributor.

Summary:
As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll lead advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives that support critical business decisions. This role spans the full data science lifecycle-from data exploration and experimentation to model deployment and performance tracking in production. You'll work with large, real world datasets, influence analytics strategy, and help translate complex models into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This is a visible role with mentorship responsibility on a growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead end to end data science projects, including predictive modeling and forecasting
* Build, validate, and deploy machine learning and AI models in a cloud environment (AWS)
* Perform time series analysis, experimentation, and causal analysis
* Translate analytics and ML insights into clear business recommendations
* Partner cross functionally to solve complex operational and commercial problems
* Lead and guide other data scientists (team size ~7-10)

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in an analytical discipline such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or Engineering; Master's degree preferred
* Five years of experience in advanced Python or R and SQL programming, performing complex statistical analyses and developing machine learning models using large-scale databases in cloud computing environments
* At least 5+ years of experience in data science or advanced analytics
* Proven experience with forecasting, including demand forecasting
* Strong proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
* Deep expertise in at least 2 of 3 areas: Generative AI, traditional ML/statistics, optimization (operations research)
* Logistics or supply chain experience is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
