Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a Quality Assurance Analyst to support a significant project focused on rewriting and developing an underwriting and new business platform. In this position, you will contribute to ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and quality of life insurance processing activities. The role involves a hybrid of quality assurance and business analysis, requiring you to help drive work forward and operate with a degree of ownership within the project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed quality audits of life insurance transactions, including financial, disbursement, and policy changes.
- Evaluate transaction processing for adherence to established procedures, controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Document audit findings, classify defect types, and identify root causes and emerging risk patterns.
- Analyze audit results to identify trends and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Partner with operations leaders and associates to clarify expectations and support corrective action planning.
- Contribute to reporting that informs leadership decision-making.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing quality and efficiency.
- Participate in calibration sessions to ensure audit accuracy and consistency.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 1-4 years of experience in quality assurance, auditing, compliance, transaction processing, insurance operations, financial operations, or operational risk and control environments.
Technical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify patterns and root causes. Exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to interpret and apply procedures consistently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in insurance, financial services, banking, healthcare claims, or other regulated operational environments.
- Prior quality assurance, audit, or compliance experience.
- Knowledge of insurance operations or life insurance servicing.
- Experience supporting process improvement or operational excellence initiatives.
Work Environment
This role is part of a team engaged in a greenfield effort where architecture and design are complete, and the focus is now on execution. The team model consists of a Product Owner and an engineering team, with resources embedded into existing teams. The environment has a culture of code review and expects individuals to work with limited handholding. Significant upfront training will be provided.
