WHAT YOU'LL DO

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile Application Reverse Engineer to join our cybersecurity research team supporting mission-critical federal programs. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Android and iOS application analysis, reverse engineering, and mobile security research, with the ability to uncover vulnerabilities, analyze custom protocols, and assess the security of complex mobile applications.

This role requires a curious and highly technical professional who enjoys exploring unfamiliar technologies, solving challenging problems, and developing innovative solutions to support customer missions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Mobile Application Analysis
  • Perform static and dynamic analysis of Android and iOS mobile applications.
  • Reverse engineer mobile applications and custom communication protocols.
  • Analyze application behavior, security controls, and implementation details.
  • Assess mobile applications for vulnerabilities and security weaknesses.
Reverse Engineering & Research
  • Utilize industry-standard reverse engineering tools and techniques to analyze mobile software.
  • Investigate application artifacts, device storage, and forensic evidence left behind by mobile applications.
  • Analyze network communications and packet captures to understand application behavior and identify security risks.
  • Research emerging mobile technologies, attack techniques, and security challenges.
Development & Collaboration
  • Develop custom tools, scripts, and automation to support analysis and research efforts.
  • Collaborate with teammates to solve complex technical problems and develop novel approaches.
  • Document findings through clear and detailed technical reporting.
  • Contribute across projects and support adjacent cybersecurity research initiatives as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience performing Android and/or iOS reverse engineering and mobile application security assessments.
  • Experience with reverse engineering tools such as jadx, Frida, Objection, apktool, Hopper, Ghidra, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of Android and iOS operating systems, application architecture, and security controls.
  • Experience with rooting, jailbreaking, device emulation, or mobile testing environments.
  • Familiarity with Android Debug Bridge (ADB), Xcode, and mobile debugging techniques.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, packet analysis, and network security concepts.
  • Understanding of modern cryptographic principles and secure communications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience developing software or automation using Python and/or C.
  • Experience with Wireshark, mitmproxy, or network traffic interception techniques.
  • Familiarity with Android obfuscation techniques such as ProGuard.
  • Previous Android or iOS application development experience.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical initiatives.
  • Experience supporting federal, intelligence community, or national security missions.
