We're looking for an experienced Family Law Attorney who is as comfortable in a courtroom as they are sitting across from a client who needs someone to truly listen. You'll handle the full spectrum of family law - custody disputes, divorce, domestic violence, child support, prenuptial agreements, alimony, and real estate matters - guiding clients with both sharp legal skill and genuine human warmth.

This is a role for someone who understands that behind every case file is a person whose life is being reshaped, and who shows up every day ready to help write a better outcome for them.

Job Details

What You'll Do
Advocate Boldly

• Appear in court for family law proceedings, representing clients with confidence in high-stakes situations
• Prepare and support clients through trials, partnering with expert witnesses when needed
• Draft pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders across a high-volume caseload

Strategize Thoughtfully

• Develop smart, individualized case strategies from inception through resolution
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed memos on complex issues
• Oversee asset division negotiations and help clients reach fair, forward-looking settlements

Lead with Compassion

• Mentor and guide paralegals and legal assistants, fostering a collaborative team environment
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with clients so they always feel informed and supported - never alone
• Cultivate lasting client relationships grounded in trust, empathy, and transparency

Execute with Precision

• Manage organized, accurate client files with meticulous attention to timeliness and detail
• Work closely with senior partners to move cases efficiently through the civil litigation process

Who You Are
You're a resilient, client-centered attorney who thrives in complex, emotionally charged situations - not because it's easy, but because you know the work matters. You bring:

• 6+ years of Family Law litigation and courtroom experience (required)
• Active licensure to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate calmly and persuasively under pressure
• A strategic mind paired with a compassionate heart - you can analyze a difficult situation and build a winning plan without losing sight of the person at the center of it
• Experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants successfully
• Strong negotiation skills, especially in high-emotion, high-stakes scenarios
• Proficiency in analyzing and summarizing complex legal documents

Bonus Points For:

• Estate planning experience
• A background in criminal justice
• Real estate matter experience
