Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to support the design, deployment, automation, security, and operational management of enterprise Microsoft Azure environments. This hands-on technical role focuses on maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure across development, test, staging, and production environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure infrastructure, networking, identity management, automation, governance, monitoring, and cloud security within structured enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable Microsoft Azure infrastructure environments
- Manage Azure Virtual Machines (Windows and Linux) and cloud-native infrastructure services
- Configure and support Azure networking including VNets, NSGs, private endpoints, DNS, routing, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and hybrid connectivity
- Manage Azure Storage, Key Vault, Load Balancers, Backup, and Site Recovery solutions
- Implement and maintain Azure Monitor, Log Analytics workspaces, KQL dashboards, alerting, and reporting
- Support Azure Policy, governance controls, and cloud compliance initiatives
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID, Azure RBAC, managed identities, and service principals
- Implement least-privilege access controls, conditional access, and identity governance solutions
- Remediate Microsoft Defender for Cloud findings and support security hardening initiatives
- Support compliance alignment with STIG, CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP standards
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Bicep, ARM templates, and Terraform
- Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash, YAML, and Ansible
- Support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
- Perform incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and operational support activities
- Optimize cloud performance, monitoring visibility, and cost management practices
- Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, deployment procedures, and operational standards
- Support production systems with minimal downtime and disruption
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or cloud engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Strong Windows Server administration experience
- Working knowledge of Linux administration
- Strong experience with Azure VMs, networking, storage, identity, and security services
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC
- Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash, Ansible, and YAML
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and KQL
- Strong troubleshooting experience involving connectivity, DNS, authentication, and performance issues
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and least-privilege access models
- Experience working in enterprise environments with formal change management processes
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation initiatives
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Azure Government, GCC, C High environments
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel
- Experience supporting hybrid Active Directory environments
- Knowledge of STIG, CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP standards
- Experience supporting SharePoint, SQL Server, Microsoft 365, or Power Platform
- Experience with cloud cost optimization and tagging governance
