Position Summary
The Assembler 3 position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work and minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment
Responsibilities
* Use electric solder equipment to IPC-A-610B standard
* Cut, prepare and pre-tin wires, prepare batteries, apply conformal coat, marking and adhesive bonding
* Follow written and verbal instructions
* Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, under direct and/or limited supervision
* Perform a variety of complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations in accordance with company instructions and procedures
* Conduct inspections of own and/or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and/or customer drawing
* Minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment, as needed
* Maintain a clean and orderly workstation adhering to 5S standards
* Maintain an acceptable safety record
* Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
* Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
* Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings as required
* Assist other departments with job duties, tasks, training, and development as needed
* Other responsibilities as assigned
Physical Requirements
* Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking about in-door Company facilities
* Lift and Carry up to 35 lbs
* Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side
* Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf
* Use hand tools, power tools and electric soldering gun
* Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands
* Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded
* Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling
* Minimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces
* Typing with computer and keyboard
Qualifications
* Good mechanical aptitude
* Able to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, electric soldering gun and light machinery; Proficient in using the tools, equipment, and inspection aids applicable to the scope of work assigned
* Capable of performing basic mathematics
* Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/ manufacturing instructions, policies and procedure
* Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts
* Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks
* Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills
* Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed
* Able to perform complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operation
* Capable of solving problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures
* Skilled at simple welding tasks and/or brazing, or soldering
* Experience with MS Office Suite
Education & Experience
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Certifications: N/A
Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of prior related work experience in an electrical/avionics manufacturing/testing environment or completed OJT training for at least 10 products
