The AI-Powered Data & Insights Analyst will connect raw, multi-source data to strategic decisions across the organization. The role will build pipelines and dashboards, apply AI and statistical methods to detect patterns and leading indicators, and present multi-perspective interpretations to executive and team audiences. The analyst will integrate people and operational data to illustrate before, during, and after journeys and support Lean, flow, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires strong command line AI and automation skills to accelerate ETL, analytics, and reporting workflows.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Responsibilities:
  • Connect to and extract data from Tableau, Microsoft Forms, Excel, Azure DevOps, Power BI, and other enterprise tools.
  • Build and maintain reliable pipelines across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured sources with data quality controls.
  • Identify and onboard new data sources as needs evolve.
  • Analyze people and organizational data to correlate composition and change with outcomes and delivery velocity.
  • Develop reporting that connects people metrics to business results and supports capacity planning while upholding privacy standards.
  • Apply statistics, AI, and machine learning to detect patterns, anomalies, correlations, outliers, and leading indicators.
  • Present multiple valid interpretations for significant findings, including optimistic, neutral, and cautionary views, and note ambiguity and risks.
  • Identify cross-domain patterns linking ADO sprints, headcount, survey sentiment, and delivery performance, while flagging confirmation bias risks.
  • Leverage Azure AI, Copilot, and Python ML libraries for predictive and narrative insights, and evaluate emerging AI analytics technologies.
  • Use command line AI tools and scripts to automate ETL, generate and iterate on DAX, SQL, KQL, and Power Query code, and integrate with CI/CD.
  • Interact with APIs and cloud storage via CLI to batch-process datasets and generate outputs for BI tools with version-controlled scripts in Git.
  • Design multi-audience dashboards for executives, directors, and teams with journey visualizations and interpretive guidance.
  • Translate complex datasets into visual stories, track trends and regressions, and provide context for metric movement.
  • Facilitate KPI definition, reporting cadences, and present findings to executives with alternative interpretations.
  • Apply Lean principles and flow analysis to surface bottlenecks, waste, and flow metrics, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years in data, BI, or reporting analyst roles.
  • Proficiency in Power BI and/or Tableau for dashboard development.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps data and work item reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Forms as data sources.
  • Ability to identify patterns and anomalies and communicate multiple interpretations to diverse audiences.
  • Experience writing DAX, SQL, and M Query (Power Query) or equivalent transformation languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to build reports for executive, director, and team-level consumption.
  • Experience using or integrating AI/ML tools in analytics workflows, including Azure OpenAI, Copilot, or Python.
  • Hands-on experience with command line AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenAI CLI, or Ollama for scripting and automation.
  • Proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, or Zsh for executing scripts and managing automated workflows.
  • Strong communication and data storytelling skills with comfort presenting ambiguity and nuance.
  • Familiarity with Agile flow metrics including cycle time, lead time, throughput, WIP, and flow efficiency.
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles and flow-based frameworks such as Value Stream Mapping, Little's Law, Theory of Constraints, and Kanban flow metrics.
