Job Summary

Value Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, cloud technologies, databases, messaging systems, and containerization. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust enterprise applications while ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and implement Microservices-based architectures following industry best practices.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and third-party services.
• Design secure, high-performing, and reliable backend systems.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and testable code following coding standards.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Design database schemas and optimize SQL queries.
• Implement caching strategies using Redis or similar technologies.
• Work with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ for asynchronous processing.
• Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth2, JWT, or Spring Security.
• Develop unit, integration, and automated tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor applications using logging and monitoring tools.
• Ensure applications follow security, compliance, and coding standards.
• Continuously improve application architecture and software development practices.
• Prepare technical documentation and API specifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Java backend development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Experience developing enterprise-grade REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable application design.
• Experience with Git-based version control systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with event-driven architecture.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Experience with reactive programming (Spring WebFlux).
• Familiarity with GraphQL.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience working in financial services, healthcare, insurance, or e-commerce domains.
• Knowledge of performance tuning and JVM optimization.
• Experience with SonarQube and code quality tools.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and OWASP standards.
