Tens of millions of customers around the world use Intuit's products. Customers trust us with their most sensitive financial data, and use our products and tools to manage their finances. As such, it's essential that Intuit protects its customers' data and assets at the highest degree of security, and specifically against malicious attempts at fraud.
Our goal is to reduce Intuit's overall fraud exposure by using and creating state-of-the-art solutions, while also maintaining a delightful user experience for the good customers.
The responsibility is end-to-end with scope as analysis, detection, prevention, metrics, dashboards, and building fraud prevention tools.
The team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer (Contractor) to take part in developing all technical aspects of these systems, working roughly 80% hands-on (new code, modifying existing code, and test automation).
How you'll succeed

Understand fraud end-to-end use cases, policies, and methodologies.

Quickly read and digest documentation and design, leverage available resources to find answers and solutions independently.

Proactively communicate status and blockers in a clear, timely manner.

Deliver solutions which are scalable, performant, and reliable.

Code contributions to Fraud Prevention capabilities to existing code.

Understand other teams' systems, codebases, and CI/CD processes well enough to contribute directly.

Be a self-starter with a proactive attitude.

Be a good listener, while also holding strong, well-reasoned opinions on the right technical approach.

Be collaborative and easy to work with.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

At least 3 years of proven experience in software engineering.

Experience building microservices, databases, and/or event-driven systems.

Ability to read and confidently modify code in an existing, unfamiliar codebase.

Working knowledge of a high-level application framework such as Java Spring Boot, Python, or Golang.

Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy as a contractor embedded in an agile team.

Bonus Points

Experience with javascript.

Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Drools, REST.

Knowledge of the Fraud domain.

Experience with big data systems.

Good sense of humor.

Location
This role is based in our New York City office, working a hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site per week.
