Summary

Senior Construction Project Manager (C2H)

Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)
Travel: Periodic travel

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Manage multiple capital projects simultaneously from initiation through construction closeout.
  • Lead project development activities including scope definition, estimating, risk identification, stakeholder alignment, and execution planning.
  • Ensure projects are properly prepared before transition into construction and execution phases.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, forecasts, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers.
  • Deliver regular project status updates and executive-level presentations.

Construction & Field Oversight

  • Support constructability reviews, site walkdowns, pre-bid activities, and construction readiness assessments.
  • Partner with construction managers and field teams to monitor project progress and mitigate risks.
  • Participate in field visits as projects advance toward execution and commissioning.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and ensure adherence to safety, quality, schedule, and budget expectations.

EPC & Contractor Management

  • Provide oversight for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts and major construction vendors.
  • Monitor contractor deliverables, milestones, change orders, liquidated damages exposure, and contractual obligations.
  • Facilitate coordination among engineering firms, construction partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive accountability across all project participants to meet delivery commitments.

Financial & Risk Management

  • Develop project business cases and funding requests.
  • Manage project budgets ranging from multi-million dollar upgrades to large-scale infrastructure programs.
  • Monitor cost forecasts and identify potential variances.
  • Proactively manage project risks, scope changes, and schedule impacts to minimize rework and cost overruns.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with engineering, transmission planning, operations, construction, and executive leadership teams.
  • Drive communication and alignment among internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Present project progress, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience leading utility, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • 3+ years of Transmission and Substation project experience.
  • Experience managing capital projects ranging from $25M to $100M+.
  • Knowledge of utility construction, engineering processes, project controls, and capital project governance.
  • Experience developing project scope, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and stakeholder management plans.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • PMP Certification or willingness to obtain PMP within two years.
  • Experience supporting transmission, substation, grid modernization, or data center interconnection projects.
  • Primavera P6 and/or Oracle Primavera (UPPM) experience.
  • EPC project management experience.
  • Utility industry background with companies such as Exelon, PECO, PPL, PJM, or similar regulated utilities.
  • Experience leading project initiation and front-end planning efforts.
