Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialists to manage the complete software asset lifecycle for assigned publisher portfolios, including software compliance, licensing, renewals, procurement, and audit readiness.

Multiple positions are available. Travel is required based on client and business needs.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro or comparable platforms such as Flexera or Snow License Manager, along with strong expertise in Effective License Position (ELP), software licensing, compliance, renewals, and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and defend the Effective License Position (ELP) for assigned publishers.

  • Reconcile software entitlements against deployment, usage, and consumption.

  • Own software compliance, including audit readiness, true-up exposure, and remediation.

  • Support internal and external software audits with accurate entitlement and usage evidence.

  • Use ServiceNow SAM Pro for software discovery, normalization, reconciliation, and license management.

  • Analyze software consumption to identify license reclamation and cost optimization opportunities.

  • Own the software renewal calendar and drive renewals to completion before expiration.

  • Manage purchase requisitions, approvals, procurement activities, and renewal timelines.

  • Evaluate proposals and support software licensing negotiations.

  • Manage contract terms, licensing agreements, and co-termination opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate license, entitlement, contract, inventory, and compliance records.

  • Prepare reports covering inventory, consumption, compliance, renewals, and licensing risks.

  • Identify and escalate compliance and financial risks proactively.

  • Collaborate with IT, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and software vendors.

Required Qualifications

  • 4–8 years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, software licensing, or software procurement.

  • Proven experience constructing and interpreting an Effective License Position (ELP).

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, or Snow License Manager.

  • Direct experience managing software renewals and licensing contracts.

  • Experience with at least one major publisher such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, or SAP.

  • Strong understanding of perpetual, subscription, and SaaS licensing models.

  • Experience with procurement platforms such as Ariba, Coupa, or ServiceNow.

  • Strong Excel, analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous or low-documentation environments.

  • Willingness to travel as required by the client/business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management.

  • Experience supporting software audits and vendor true-up negotiations.

  • Experience with software license optimization and reclamation.

  • Strong knowledge of complex publisher licensing models.
