American National is seeking a Systems Analyst to support the Annuity Help Desk team within our Annuity Business Systems Analysis organization. This role is responsible for researching and resolving issues, applying sound problem-solving skills, and partnering with business and technical agile teams to support day-to-day annuity operations.
The successful Systems Analyst demonstrates the ability and aptitude to learn the complex inner workings of our annuity policy administration system and related processes. This individual uses technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills to research issues, identify root causes, recommend solutions, and create clear documentation that support both the team and business partners.
Essential Functions and Duties: - Research and analyze annuity help desk tickets, questions, and system-related problems to determine root cause and recommend timely, effective solutions
- Apply problem-solving skills, technical aptitude, and business knowledge to troubleshoot system functionality and support moderate-to-complex operational inquiries
- Recognize when a help desk ticket requires escalation to an agile team for a more comprehensive solution, system enhancement, or code change, and communicate the need clearly to the appropriate partners
- Create and maintain clear, accurate documentation, job aids, procedures, and training materials for team members and business partners
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and process guidance effectively through written, verbal, and interpersonal interactions
- Collaborate with team members and business partners to improve processes, share knowledge, and enhance support effectiveness
- Follow tickets through to completion and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and quality
- Provide high-quality service to internal and external customers
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years work experience
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues and recommend solutions
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and the ability to learn systems, processes, and tools quickly
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change
- Experience creating documentation, job aids, procedures, or training materials
- Annuity knowledge preferred
- Annuity policy administration system experience is a plus
