Summary

Role: SharePoint Online Administrator & Developer

Location: Fully Remote (East Coast Preferred)
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Potential Extension/Conversion: Medium possibility based on performance and business needs
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (1-hour lunch)
Hours: 40 hours/week

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled SharePoint Online Administrator & Developer to support and enhance enterprise collaboration solutions within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This individual will be responsible for administering, developing, configuring, and optimizing SharePoint Online environments while driving automation, governance, and digital transformation initiatives across the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in SharePoint Online administration, Power Platform development, SPFx customization, and Microsoft 365 integrations. This role requires both technical depth and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

SharePoint Online Administration

  • Administer and maintain SharePoint Online environments, including site collections, permissions, storage quotas, and governance policies
  • Implement and enforce SharePoint security, compliance, and best practices across Microsoft 365
  • Monitor system health, user activity, and platform performance using Microsoft 365 admin tools and PowerShell
  • Configure and support integrations with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, and Power Apps
  • Manage backup, restoration, retention, and version control processes
  • Troubleshoot SharePoint Online issues and provide ongoing support for end users and business teams
  • Handle user onboarding, access management, and permissions auditing

SharePoint Development & Customization

  • Design, develop, and deploy workflows and automation solutions using Power Automate and PowerShell
  • Customize SharePoint Online pages, forms, lists, and libraries using Power Apps and JSON formatting
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint Framework (SPFx) web parts, extensions, and reusable site templates
  • Integrate SharePoint Online with external systems using REST APIs, Microsoft Graph API, and third-party connectors
  • Implement SharePoint branding, UI enhancements, and responsive design improvements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable SharePoint solutions
  • Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and end-user training
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, compliance, and security teams to ensure a secure and compliant Microsoft 365 environment
  • Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution activities

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and developing SharePoint Online solutions
  • Strong expertise within Microsoft 365 technologies and services
  • Experience with Power Platform tools including Power Automate and Power Apps
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for administration and automation
  • Experience developing SharePoint Framework (SPFx) components using React, TypeScript, and Node.js
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, permissions, governance, and compliance
  • Experience integrating SharePoint with REST APIs and Microsoft Graph API
  • Familiarity with JSON formatting, SharePoint branding, and UI customization
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating with distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications related to SharePoint, Microsoft 365, or Power Platform
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale SharePoint Online environments
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams integrations and collaboration tools
  • Experience with migration or modernization initiatives within Microsoft 365

 

Fully remote opportunity with preference for candidates located on or near the East Coast time zone.
