**Recruiter note: Don't limit the search to traditional PMs. Engineers/designers who have progressed into managing major utility/capital projects are a key target. Natural gas/pipeline candidates with major-project experience should also be considered, even without direct electric T&D experience.
Project Manager with 5+ years of experience in engineering, design, and/or project management, ideally within the utility, energy, or infrastructure space.
Target profile:
- 5+ years of professional experience with progression from engineering/design into project management or direct capital project management experience
- Experience managing large capital projects, including responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, cost forecasting, risk, contractors, and project execution
- Strong preference for candidates with backgrounds in electric utilities, T&D (Transmission & Distribution), electric generation, natural gas, pipelines, or other utility infrastructure
- Candidates with an engineering/design background who have moved into project management are especially attractive
- Experience coordinating engineering teams, construction contractors, clients, inspectors, and other stakeholders
- Comfortable working with technical drawings, engineering/design deliverables, RFIs, project documentation, permitting, and construction execution
- Strong client-facing communication and ability to communicate project status, budgets, schedules, and risks to leadership
- Engineering degree preferred, particularly Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Petroleum, or related disciplines
