The IT Support Specialist I provides first-level technical support for end users at company locations. This role focuses on troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic network issues, ensuring timely resolution of IT incidents, and delivering excellent customer service. The position is ideal for entry-level IT professionals looking to build hands-on experience in a corporate or enterprise environment.
Responsibilities- Provide on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and operating system issues (Windows/macOS)
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and standard applications
- Respond to IT support requests via ticketing system, phone, and in person
- Escalate complex issues to Tier II or Tier III support as needed
- Assist with user account management (password resets, access requests, MFA support)
- Support basic network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, VPN, Ethernet)
- Perform equipment setup, moves, adds, and changes (MACs)
- Document incidents, resolutions, and procedures in the ticketing system
- Follow IT policies, security standards, and best practices
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to all users
Qualifications- Associate degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience
- 0-2 years of IT support or help desk experience
- Basic knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Office apps)
- Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
