Job Details

Position Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve production operations through process optimization, lean initiatives, and continuous improvement. This role partners closely with operations, quality, maintenance, and leadership to drive efficiency, safety, and throughput while supporting new product or line introductions.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys being hands-on in the plant and owns projects from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles
  • Develop and maintain standard work, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and production line launches
  • Optimize plant layout, line balancing, time studies, and capacity planning
  • Partner with Quality on root cause analysis and corrective action (8D, RCA)
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction and productivity improvement projects
  • Support capital equipment selection, justification, and implementation (as applicable)
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and supply chain to improve overall plant performance

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a plant environment
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools
  • Experience supporting production, troubleshooting process issues, and implementing improvements
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations and leadership
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in food & beverage, metals/fabrication, plastics, packaging, or industrial manufacturing
Exposure to Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred)
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite, etc.)
Experience leading small capital or equipment improvement projects
Data-driven mindset with strong Excel or reporting skills
