Senior Mechanical Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is immediately seeking an expeienced Senior Mechanical Engineer in support of our enterprise networking and cloud solutions client based in Austin, TX.

Duties:
* Design, develop, and support electromechanical enclosure solutions for networking, telecommunications, and data center hardware platforms
* Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using NX and TeamCenter and/or PTC Creo, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and product requirements
* Lead enclosure development activities from concept through production, including design reviews, prototyping, testing, validation, and release
* Develop and optimize sheet metal enclosure designs with consideration for manufacturability, cost, quality, reliability, and scalability
* Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and product engineering teams to integrate system components and resolve complex design challenges
* Perform structural analysis and evaluate mechanical performance using simulation and analysis tools to verify design integrity and reliability
* Analyze and optimize thermal management solutions, airflow characteristics, and cooling strategies to support system-level performance objectives
* Create and maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), engineering change orders (ECOs), and design release packages
* Support prototype builds and manufacturing activities by troubleshooting design issues and implementing corrective actions as needed
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on enclosure architecture, system optimization, material selection, and design processes
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal engineering practices throughout the product development lifecycle

REQUIREMENTS:
* BSME in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* 5+ years of experience in electro mechanical enclosure design
* Extensive experience with NX and TeamCenter and/or PTC Creo design tools

Desired Skills/Experience:
* Expertise in sheet metal enclosure design
* Proficiency with structural analysis software tools
* Strong analytical skills with a focus on system-level optimization and advanced thermal management

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
