Position Overview

The Cloud Specialist will support a Cloud Migration project and will be responsible for developing and modifying scalable cloud architecture supporting Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.

The specialist will ensure the security and compliance of cloud environments, including data protection and privacy, and will safely migrate existing on-premises applications, workloads, and databases to public cloud platforms.

Senior Cloud Infrastructure / Cloud Engineer / Cloud Architect with strong AWS and Azure + Windows Server + Active Directory + PowerShell + networking + VMware/VM management, and actual on-prem-to-cloud migration experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify scalable cloud architecture supporting IaaS and PaaS platforms.
• Ensure security and compliance of cloud environments, including data protection and privacy.
• Migrate existing on-premises applications, workloads, and databases to public cloud platforms.
• Monitor and analyze cloud infrastructure performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design controls and processes utilizing available audit tools.
• Maintain extensive and up-to-date knowledge of cloud products and technologies.

Required Skills / Experience

• Proficiency in a major public cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• AWS/Azure SME-level experience preferred/required per skill matrix.
• Experience with automation and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, VPCs, and firewalls.
• Advanced VM management experience.
• Advanced Windows Server administration.
• Active Directory experience.
• Microsoft 365 experience.
• Advanced networking experience.

• 5 6+ years of AWS or Microsoft Azure experience.
• Government or regulated-industry experience.
• Advanced Linux administration.
• vSphere/VMware experience.
• Python scripting.
